4. Where Will I Go After I Die?

Will you go to Heaven?  Knowing were you stand with God will help you to assess your true spiritual condition.  Are you a good person? Judge yourself against God’s moral law.  Let's look at just three laws.

How many times have you lied?  Lying once makes you a liar.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

~ Exodus 20:16

How many times have you stolen something – even as small as a paperclip?  Maybe you left work early or used your employer’s copier without permission.  Stealing one time makes you a thief.

You shall not steal. ~ Exodus 20:15

- 3 -

How many times have you looked with sexual desire at someone who is not your husband or wife?  Jesus, who is God, said if you look with lust, you’ve committed adultery in your heart.  If you’ve looked with lust, you are an adulterer in God’s eyes.

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. ~ Matthew 5:28

If you’ve done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, adulterer. Is that the definition of a good person? If you’re honest, you would have to admit to breaking God’s moral laws. If you died tonight and if God judged you by His holy standard, you would be guilty and He would condemn you to hell.

As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one.

~ Romans 3:10

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

~ Romans 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 6:23

For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. ~ James 4:14

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. ~ Revelation 21:8
